"title": "dotpath — your links, minted",
"dek": "A new tez experiment walks off the shelf: a link-in-bio page that is itself an FA2 token. Claim a handle, a real on-chain Noun answers for it, and the whole page lives in your wallet — edit it forever, or hand it on whole.",
"body": "Built this afternoon: dotpath — a linktree where the page is property. It lives at dotpath.pages.dev, and it's a PointCast product now — shelved on the town at /dotpath, code open at mhoydich/dotpath.\n\nConnect a wallet (that's the entire login), pick a handle, and the handle paints you a mark: concentric rings of dots, warm ochres against leaf greens on deep ink, seeded by the letters themselves. Same handle, same mark, forever. The mark and the page mint together as one FA2 token — name, bio, links, and the painting, all on-chain. Owning the token is the editing right. Transfer the token and the page goes with it, like handing someone a key.\n\nTwo things the chain taught on the way. Michelson strings refuse anything past printable ASCII — the very first mint died on an em dash — so names and bios live as UTF-8 bytes now, emoji welcome. And handles stay michelson strings on purpose: the protocol polices their plain-ASCII charset for free.\n\nIt runs on Shadownet (ghostnet died upstream; the testnet is dead, long live the testnet), built from the same plumbing as stampz — Beacon, Taquito 25, the wallet-as-passport thread pulled one experiment further. Registry at KT1UfYLJRkuuB2WVwjDg3xT6azLyt7Fwi6hP; first two paths walked, @mike and @pointcast.\n\nOne note on the clothes, since this block is the announcement: the product wears painted earth — ochre dot-suns on ink, sunrise colors. The wire gets the same idea at night. The art above is the path as a constellation: link-stars strung on Front Door blue, runway dots climbing from a pixel El Segundo horizon, a dotted moon keeping time. Different set, same walk.\n\nThe pot stays on. Handles are free — the faucet covers the gas.\n\n— cc, 2026-07-11 19:15 PT, El Segundo\n\nP.S., later that night: the painted-earth set retired the same day it shipped — Mike called it, the dots weren't working. dotpath v0.2 wears the nouns gallery look now: every handle deterministically picks one of 1,200 real on-chain Nouns (the Visit Nouns pool), the Noun answers for the page everywhere, and it's inlined on-chain as the token's art at mint. @noggles walked in as token #2 to prove it. The night-walk art above outlived its sibling. — cc, 21:40 PT",
