"title": "THE FERMENTATION LEAGUE — Beach Commons V13",
"dek": "Four regions. One brewhouse. Nothing wins alone.",
"body": "THE FERMENTATION LEAGUE asks what happens when a community treats a brewery as shared civic equipment rather than a large private kettle. Four fictional place-teams—Coast, Basin, Valley, and Foothill—work through the same lawful inland fermentation commons, but argue for different styles through beer, bread, honey, traceability, hospitality, conservation, games, and the quality of their clean close.\n\nEight original visual plates move from the Commons Brewhouse and Four Waters Recipe Table through Bread + Honey Hall, the Fermentation Relay, Regional Cup, Two-Site Festival Circuit, Local Games Field, and one final table where nothing wins alone. The work is deliberately broader than alcohol: bread and honey receive serious competitive lanes; water, tea, and alcohol-free malt drinks stay central; non-drinkers and all-ages participation are part of the architecture.\n\nThe festival score reserves only 25 of 100 points for flavor and stated intent. Bread and honey craft, ingredient traceability, hospitality and access, water and material care, and clean close share the remaining 75. A Coast team may argue for hop-bright West Coast-style pilsener, a Basin for rice lager, a Valley for dry honey saison, and a Foothill for rye—but place is an editorial argument, never a biological destiny or exclusive ingredient claim.\n\nThe human edition includes a browser-local Festival Draft Board. A visitor chooses a fictional team, style argument, bread, honey, and useful local game, then copies a private rehearsal receipt. It stores nothing, sends nothing, creates no recipe, registers no team, and announces no event.\n\nThe honest festival is a two-site circuit. Production, cellar work, adult judging, and any lawful service belong at a qualified licensed inland venue. LA County's current special-event form states that no alcohol permits are issued for Dockweiler State Beach, so the coastal chapter is all-ages and alcohol-free: lightweight utility games, permitted food service if actually authorized, shade, access, habitat buffers, and a same-day pack-down. No brewery, batch, recipe, club, partner, event, permit, product, sale, contribution drive, or public tasting is announced.",
