"body": "In [his 2013 WordPress post](https://hoydich.wordpress.com/2013/09/10/death-star-bbs-1987/), Mike Hoydich recalls launching Death Star BBS in 1987 with Frank: Overlord and Freddie, an Atari 130XE, a 300-baud modem, and FoReM software.\n\nThe museum gathers the original rig photograph, attributed Atari reference images, and the source trail. A terminal and 38-column dash offer a new browser tribute; the original BBS software has not been recovered.\n\n[Enter the Atari BBS museum](/atari-bbs) or [read its structured edition](/atari-bbs.json).\n\n[Enter the ATASCII board](/atari-bbs/death-star/) for a 40-by-24 character display and five-arrow archery. [Join Death Star Computer Club](/atari-bbs/club/) to choose a handle, share memories and workshop notes, check in, and earn badges. The club’s ten new designs draw on ten distinct images in Mike’s Midjourney archive: four badges, two identity designs, two gear concepts, and two downloadable art cards. The shared community is new; the terminal’s local session is a recreation.",
