Flowers Machined in El Segundo. Twenty vector studies, five workbenches.

El Segundo grew flowers before it built airplanes. BLOOM SHOP imagines a garage between the refinery and the runway where the mechanics started machining flowers instead of fenders. Each family is a different workbench, run by a different design tradition. The botany is invented; the light is the real 4 p.m. marine layer burning off over Dockweiler.
