Mint the mixtape.
el segundo beach club ii is four songs and 18 minutes 54 seconds on mhoydich's public playlist. Minting it would keep a small record on pointcast-chain: the order, the running times, the link and who made it. The songs stay on Spotify.

This is a preview. Nothing on this page is minted, posted or recorded. Listen checks, signatures and approvals are simulated. The page sends nothing anywhere; its only network request is for its fonts.
The on-chain record
What the chain keeps.
One small JSON body. The node stores it and the chain commits its hash in a publish_block on the SPN channel. The songs, the art and the audio never go on chain. The card above is drawn from these fields, so anyone can redraw it.
pointcast-chain/body/v1 followed by the body, the same way the node computes it.

Three ways to mint
One tape, three kinds of copy.
Pick one to see the transactions it needs on today's chain and what changes in v2. Every approval in this section is simulated.
The curator mints №1 to their own wallet.
The first mint of a drop creates it and makes the sender its creator for good. After that, only the creator can mint more. So the curator's copy is also the moment the tape gets an owner.
- publish_block on SPN with the record's hash and the playlist link.
- drop_mint to
mixtape-el-segundo-beach-club-ii, recipient the curator. This creates the drop and issues edition №1. - Do both before the slug is public. Anyone can create a drop with an unused slug, so a slug announced early can be taken.
Editions can't be transferred and have no price. Recipients must be tz1, tz2 or a registered agent.
Mint edition №1 of el segundo beach club ii to your own wallet. This creates the drop, and you become its creator for good. Free. It can't be transferred.
Played all four, inside seven days.
The check reads a listen log in the ListenBrainz shape: when, song, artist. It needs a listen of every song on the tape, all inside one seven-day span, while the edition is open. Untick a row to see the rule react.
Sample data, written for this preview. Times are Pacific. Nothing is read from ListenBrainz.
A listen log is a claim. Anyone can submit listens to ListenBrainz, and free keys farm anything that is one per key. So the desk adds a scarce gate before it signs: one approval per PointCast account at least 72 hours old, with the ListenBrainz account linked through MetaBrainz sign-in, plus per-IP budgets and a capped supply.
Each volume names the one before it.
The record's series.prev holds the body hash of the previous volume. Bodies are committed by hash, so the chain of volumes can be checked end to end. A reader trusts a volume only when the pinned curator sent it; a slug or a channel alone proves nothing.
Volume i isn't in this preview, so prev stays null in the record above until its link and tracks are on file.
Mint any URL
Any link can be a tape.
Paste a link. The page cleans it, hashes it and draws a card from the hash, so the same link always gives the same card and the same record. Nothing is fetched and nothing leaves this page.
The DJ comes from a booth of three resident Nouns in this preview. A real build would draw from all 1,200 Visit Nouns seeds and fill the title from PointCast's link unfurl.
What's real today vs v2
What runs now, and what waits for v2.
pointcast-chain main already runs drop_mint and publish_block, on a local rehearsal chain. There's no public node yet, so nothing has been minted anywhere.
The tape's record
Todaypublish_block (tag 1) on SPN. The node stores the JSON body, up to 64 KiB, and the chain commits its blake2b hash, with the link as media_uri.
v2The same record. A time capsule could seal the next volume now and open it on its air date (seal_capsule and open_capsule).
Curator's copy
Todaydrop_mint (tag 4). The first mint creates the drop and makes the sender its creator for good. Up to 10,000 editions chain-wide, no price, and editions can't move.
v2drop_create with a per-drop cap and a metadata hash (a batch-2 proposal) ends slug squatting and typo drops.
Listener copies
TodayOnly the creator can mint, so the curator's wallet signs one drop_mint per listener from the desk's queue.
v2open_edition and edition_mint: the listener mints their own copy with a desk approval bound to their address and their listen window.
Proof of listen
TodayNothing on chain. The desk reads a public ListenBrainz log, which is self-reported.
v2A listen ticket shaped like a presence ticket: an issuer-signed attestation, one per person per edition, with an issuer budget.
Series
TodayEach body names the hash of the volume before. Readers pin the curator's address and ignore volumes from anyone else.
v2The series lives on a claimed station with a crew (claim_station and set_station), so only the crew can publish the next volume.
Tezos
TodayThe mirror pattern: a Tezos FA2 sale can be mirrored as a free first-collector certificate, tz1 and tz2 only.
v2A seal attestation, or an FA2 claim against an anchored state root. Anchoring is proven on Shadownet; mainnet waits on a funded key.
Status
TodayLocal rehearsal only. "Minted on PointCast chain" isn't true until a public node runs on the final genesis.
v2Consensus changes, a public node, and custody for the desk's attestor key.
The First Mints and time-capsule designs both claimed tags 14 and 15. The Town Network tag registry settles it: capsules take 14 and 15, editions take 21 to 23 (open_edition, edition_mint, edition_transfer), and the mandate mask widens past 15 first, in batch 2.
How it works and what's private
What stays with you.
Your listening stays yours.
The check reads the log in your browser. If the desk approves, the chain gets one edition to your address and a 16-byte hash of your listen window. Never the listen rows, and never your ListenBrainz name.
Links are public and permanent.
The tool strips tracking parameters such as si and utm_ before it hashes anything. Don't mint private, unlisted or tokenized links.
Editions stay put.
They can't be transferred or burned, and they don't follow a Tezos resale. A re-genesis before launch would wipe rehearsal records.
This page sends nothing.
Nothing you do here leaves this browser. The only request it makes is for its fonts, from Google Fonts, and the only thing it remembers is your theme choice.
