Learn by making / No. 01

One useful thing.
All the way through.

A good first project has a beginning, a small piece of real work, and a handoff someone else can understand. Practice the whole loop here.

This is an educational rehearsal, not a signup form, internship offer or hiring decision. This lab does not save drafts to browser storage or an account. Clear the draft to reset this page; download it to retain a copy. Browser tab restoration can retain page state. Nothing you type is sent to PointCast. Keep names, contact details and other personal information out.

Your workbench

From interest to handoff

Start with a direction.

01 / Interest draft

What do you want to get better at?

No account, application or enrollment is created. A role here is a learning interest, not an assignment from PointCast.

02 / Onboarding

Know the working agreement.

Use a small, original project. Ask a person to check the result. Keep the next person in mind.

Before a real internship starts, PointCast must confirm terms, supervision, eligibility, pay, hours and privacy arrangements. This lab establishes none of those.

03 / The first assignment

Make one offer someone can understand.

Choose an original printable, a useful checklist, or a tightly scoped design service. Define who it helps, what is delivered, what is excluded, and what needs human approval. Start with the free First Offer Kit in the Money Lab.

Example directions, not client commissions: a book-swap poster, an original activity pack, or clearer product cards. No paid work or publication is promised.

YOUR HANDOFFOne offer page.
One product record.
One short test note.

Done means someone else can inspect it and knows what happens next.

04 / Task board

Keep the work visible.

Move each task as you work. “Ready for review” is your draft status, not acceptance by a reviewer.

To do

Find one useful job

Choose a small audience and one problem. Write what the finished result helps someone do.

To do

Make the smallest offer

Use the First Offer Kit to draft one offer page and matching product record. State the contents, exclusions, rights and delivery.

To do

Test it for the next person

Check the page on a narrow screen, follow every link, inspect the downloadable files and compare the human and machine descriptions.

05 / Submission draft

Leave evidence, not just a tick.

The URL is kept as text. This lab does not visit, upload or verify it. Do not include private access links.

Complete your interest draft, onboarding, tasks and evidence to prepare a local review draft.

06 / Review rehearsal

A second look makes it useful.

Practice with a human reviewer, or rehearse the questions yourself. These checks are self-reported and do not authenticate a reviewer.

Review checklist

Changing the project or evidence clears the review and practice approval. Review the updated version again.

07 / Release rehearsal

The last step belongs to a person.

This prepares a release handoff. It cannot publish, run a deploy, change access or approve future work. In a real project, the owner reviews the exact version and uses the established release process.

For PointCast: scoped branch → independent review → owner approval → merge → deployment checks → production verification. Your draft does not skip any step.

Practice release gate

No practice approval recorded. Nothing has been deployed.

Take your handoff with you.
