College football usually arranges schools as a top 25 and lets the rest of the country disappear. The Saturday Atlas keeps the useful electricity of a ranking, then refuses to turn the whole field into a fake score.
The 2026–27 NCAA directory resolves to 266 Division I football programs: 138 FBS and 128 FCS. The current PointCast 25 appears first in exact Board 000 order. The remaining programs become browse order—FBS A–Z, then FCS A–Z—not a national quality ranking.
For students, every record opens the institution before the football program. Search by school, conference, state, subdivision, public/private status, or HBCU status. Sort the field. Keep a shortlist on one device. Then ask about tickets, transit, the walk home, the other six days, aid, housing, accessibility, student life, and what the institution chooses to build around Saturday.
