The Silver Letter Weather Office
A public weather office for Kaiping and the places connected to it. Leave no identity—only today's river, kitchen, distance, and neighborly care.

What is the weather of home today?
02 / Qwen dusk relay ·
Qwen does not speak for the community.
It reads the pressure between its signals.
At dusk, the relay is designed for Qwen to turn anonymous averages into one bilingual weather letter, then for Qwen Audio to voice the broadcast with Cantonese instruction control. The model relay connects only after current plan access is verified.
03 / Regional note
Silver letters are care carried across distance.
Qiaopi—also called “silver letters” in the Wuyi region—carried family news and remittances home together. This artwork borrows no archival appearance. It works with the relationship inside the form: leaving, caring, sharing responsibility, and maintaining ties between home villages and communities overseas.
A contemporary artwork inspired by Kaiping's regional histories; not an archive or a representation of every local experience.
