Ayni (Andean reciprocal labor)
Ayni is the Andean principle of reciprocity: one household helps another with planting, harvest or building and later receives the same help in kind. It predates the Inca and continues today.

How a note would work
Terraces are earned by helping a household with planting, harvest or building and spent on the same kind and amount of help later. They are never bought or cashed out.
