The tradition · since 1995
Fureai Kippu (caring relationship tickets)
Fureai Kippu, a Japanese time-credit scheme since 1995, lets volunteers earn credits helping older people and save or transfer them; it grew from an Osaka volunteer labour bank begun in 1973.
How a note would work
Visits are earned by helping older neighbours with shopping, housework or company and can be saved for your own care or passed to a relative. They are never bought or cashed out.
Design concept inspired by this tradition, not issued by or for the people who keep it. Not legal tender, not for sale, no cash value, no redemption and no investment rights.
