Sardex mutual credit circuit

Launched in 2009 in Serramanna by five young founders who modelled it on Switzerland's WIR, Sardex lets Sardinian businesses trade on a mutual-credit ledger at 0% interest.

How a note would work

Neighbours earn Loops by offering skills or goods to other members and spend them inside the circuit, with no interest either way. Loops are never bought or cashed out.

Design concept inspired by this tradition, not issued by or for the people who keep it. Not legal tender, not for sale, no cash value, no redemption and no investment rights.
