The $100 Fire-Ring Commons
Ten reusable non-food modules, one existing Dockweiler fire ring, a quiet four-part score, and a complete way home
Beach Commons V6 asks a deliberately practical question: what can 10–20 adults assemble when each person contributes one reusable non-food module worth about $100—or supports the shared module pool with one $100 card contribution?
The answer is not a stage or shelter. It is a low crescent around an existing official fire ring: stools, canvas and wool, shielded solar lanterns, analog weather tools, an access mat, quiet bells and frame drums, handwashing water, two wagons, fire-safety equipment, cleanup tools, and a complete same-night pack-out. The social program is Jet / Wave / Fire / Us, a four-part listening score that follows aircraft light, breaking surf, one acoustic answer, and one minute of collective quiet.
This is project support, not admission. A contribution is not a ticket, reservation, charitable donation, tax-deductible gift, promise of attendance, event date, or fire-ring claim. LA County currently requires organized groups to obtain a Special Event Use Permit and posts a three-week application deadline. No field test is announced until clearance is resolved.
