The tradition · since 1966
Pasporta Servo (Esperanto hosting service)
Pasporta Servo began in 1966 as a list of Esperanto speakers willing to host fellow speakers for free; now run by TEJO, the World Esperanto Youth Organization, it has hosts in dozens of countries.

How a note would work
Nights are earned by hosting travellers who speak a common language and spent on a stay with another host; conversation is the only fee. They are never bought or cashed out.
Design concept inspired by this tradition, not issued by or for the people who keep it. Not legal tender, not for sale, no cash value, no redemption and no investment rights.
