Seed Savers Exchange
Seed Savers Exchange was founded in 1975 after Diane Ott Whealy's grandfather gave her seeds his parents brought from Bavaria; members list saved varieties in a yearbook and swap them by mail.

How a note would work
Envelopes are earned by saving and mailing heirloom seeds to members and spent on varieties others list. They are never bought or cashed out.
Design concept inspired by this tradition, not issued by or for the people who keep it. Not legal tender, not for sale, no cash value, no redemption and no investment rights.
