Community Exchange System (CES)

The Community Exchange System began in Cape Town in 2003 as the Cape Town Talent Exchange, an online interest-free mutual-credit ledger adapted from LETS; it now hosts exchanges in many countries.

How a note would work

Members list offers and wants, earn Talents by providing goods or services and spend them with anyone on the network. Talents are never bought or cashed out.

Design concept inspired by this tradition, not issued by or for the people who keep it. Not legal tender, not for sale, no cash value, no redemption and no investment rights.
