Uplift is not the same thing as cheerfulness.

Cheerfulness can arrive fully inflated. Uplift needs a surface to push against. Here that surface is picked string, live-room patience, a country-pop door that opens without apology, and the exact moment an old song becomes morning equipment again.

The sequence keeps the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia as gravity, not costume. No bears. No skulls. Just ensemble time, wood, wire, room, and the useful feeling that the day might answer back.
