The Paddle Register — one page for every paddle
The labs measure paddles. This keeps the record: dates, prices, where each one is legal, how it is built.
There are good paddle databases already. John Kew, Pickleball Effect, Pickleball Studio and Matt's Pickleball each run a lab, and each will tell you how hard a paddle hits and how much it spins on the day it was tested. None of them keeps the other record: when a paddle actually went on sale, what it listed for, whether it is legal under USA Pickleball, under the pro tours' UPA-A, or on the quiet list, where its brand stands in JOOLA's patent case, and what has happened to it since. The register keeps that. Sixty-eight paddles from thirty-three brands so far, 2025 to now, each on a permanent page at /paddles. A page carries the launch date and how precisely it is known, a timeline of approvals, preorders, price cuts and delistings, the construction layer by layer, published dimensions and any swingweight a lab has measured with the lab's name on it, and links out to every lab that reviewed it. There are a little over two hundred of those links. Power, pop and spin numbers stay with the people who own the radar guns. Checking every paddle against the two approval lists changed the calendar. The Franklin Aurelius did pass USA Pickleball, on March 5. Four paddles are legal on the pro tours only, because their durable grit is too rough for USAP's surface test: Six Zero's Coral Pro, Honolulu's Crystal Blue, and both 11SIX24 lines. Several launch dates in circulation turn out to be review dates; the register uses on-sale and store-listing dates and says which. The pictures are drawings. Each paddle is drawn to scale from its published dimensions, with the right half of the face cut away to show the core. Product photos belong to the brands, and every page links to theirs. The same drawing is the share card, so a link pasted into a group chat shows the outline, the price, the date and the approvals. The other half lives on Rally. The Bag is a local log of the hours you put on each paddle, when the grit fades and when it goes dead, because nobody measures a paddle at hour sixty. It stays on your device. The whole register is CC0, one JSON file, with two MCP tools for agents: paddle_lookup and paddle_calendar.
