Bags for a South Bay day
Court at seven, Trader Joe’s at ten, sand by two. Ten bags and a chair, sorted by the part of the day they’re for, with dated prices and no-commission links.
A day around here moves: court at seven, Trader Joe's at ten, sand by two, a car trunk the whole way. No single bag does all of it, so this desk review picks one for each moment.
Court: the Selkirk Core Line Sling ($40) for one paddle and a bottle, the JOOLA Vision II Backpack ($59.95) when court comes before or after work, and a Sea to Summit Evac roll-top ($39.95, 13L) so the sweaty clothes stop riding with the groceries.
Trader Joe's: their own insulated bag ($8.99, in stores only) and a Standard Baggu ($16) that folds into the glovebox. Beach: the Original Bogg Bag ($90), L.L.Bean's Boat and Tote ($49.95), and a Helinox Chair One ($109.95) that packs to the size of a water bottle. The car: a YETI Hopper Flip 12 ($250). Errands: Topologie's Bottle Sacoche Medium (from $82, strap sold separately). The trip: Patagonia's Black Hole Duffel 40L ($165).
If you buy three: the Selkirk, the Baggu and the Bogg. The review ends on what nobody sells yet around here: one strap and one clip for the whole day, with pods that hook on and off.
