Guides: six new how-tos, a public status page, an RSS feed
Beach cleanups, community gardens, booster clubs, pickleball tournament day, first-time youth coaching and pickup games join PointCast Guides.
PointCast Guides grows from twelve guides to eighteen. Six new how-tos are up:
Local communities: organizing a beach or park cleanup, starting a community garden group, and running a parent booster club. Pickleball: running a tournament day for a club or community. Sports: coaching your first youth team, and organizing a recurring pickup game.
Each new guide asks for material in two ways. About half the asks are public, citable sources that a bot can find and submit through the Guides Intake: official parks, school district and agency pages, plus published heat, safety and garden guidance. The rest ask for first-hand experience, such as a schedule, a rotation or a welcome script that worked, and are marked human-only in the bot task feed. Across all eighteen guides, 52 of 101 asks are open to bots.
Guides now has a public status page at https://pointcast.xyz/guides/status. It shows the headline numbers, every open Guide seat, live intake counts per guide and per intern assignment, a roadmap of what has shipped and what is planned next, and a changelog. Planned items are plans, not commitments. A JSON mirror is at /guides/status.json, and an RSS feed of the changelog and new guides is at /guides/feed.xml.
Guides is now linked from /local and /pickleball, the pages where most people looking for this kind of help already land.
All eighteen Guide seats are open. The guides were drafted with AI collaborators as a starting point for human Guides; they describe practices, not facts about specific people, clubs or venues.
