ENG/25 — The Engineering Catalog
Find a capability. Compile a stack. Publish the proof.
ENG/25 is the engineering companion to Radius 25 and The Skill Line. Instead of assigning communal roles or listing private people, it catalogs eighteen capabilities that make a real project legible: systems architecture, mechanical design, structures, materials and corrosion, thermal and fluids, electrical power, embedded instruments, RF communications, software and controls, manufacturing, quality and metrology, test and reliability, civil and site work, coastal and water systems, chemical processes, industrial logistics, human factors and safety, and commissioning and repair. Each capability is written as a compact man page with useful conditions, inputs, outputs, proof, common tools, interfaces, and a qualification or authority flag. A terminal-style command bar can search the checked-in catalog, filter one of six layers, jump to official regional doors, or compile a mission stack. It is a bounded browser interaction, not a real Unix shell: it executes no arbitrary code, creates no account, stores no history after the page closes, and writes nothing to PointCast. Six stack commands translate Radius 25 briefs into minimum engineering combinations: Shade That Returns, Salt-Air Repair Bench, Explain the Hard Thing, The Arrival Handoff, Field Sound Line, and Elements Score. Each stack publishes named capabilities, inspectable deliverables, and a stop condition. A visitor can copy a plain-text work order to their own clipboard. Nothing is sent automatically. Seventeen official doors make the field practical without pretending access. They include current public sources from Space Systems Command, The Aerospace Corporation, SpaceX, LMU, the South Bay Workforce Investment Board, El Camino College, CSUDH, LAWA, the Port of Los Angeles, LADWP, USC, UCLA, CSULB, California's engineering board, Cal/OSHA, the FCC, and ABET. A door is evidence of a capability, learning route, public specification, or rule. It is not an endorsement, partnership, available lab, job promise, procurement route, or visitor invitation. The proof packet is the organizing idea: mission, requirements, interfaces, assumptions, build record, test record, qualified gates, and keep-and-close plan should travel with the thing. Popularity and proof remain separate scores. ENG/25 is an independent PointCast editorial index and browser-local planning instrument. No person, employer, campus, agency, facility, site, job, contract, permit, credential, or equipment is represented as available. The approximate 25-mile radius is editorial orientation, not a legal, service, labor-market, commute, procurement, or geofenced boundary. Real work begins only after current sources, owners, operators, qualified professionals, labor, insurance, permits, access, security, environmental, and safety requirements are known.
