A marina should not only store boats. It should teach a city how to keep things afloat.
HARBOR WORKS imagines a marina as a working civic atelier: vessel triage, repair education, a coastal parts counter, clean-bilge service, adaptive small-craft access, industrial archaeology, marine electronics, art, and a sunset table where useful work becomes public contentment. Eight original architectural plates form the study. The Useful Marina makes the complete metabolism visible. The Five-Future Triage Hall asks whether a vessel should keep sailing, become a bounded repair lesson, join a shared fleet, yield inspected parts, or enter licensed dismantling. The Hull Library gives safe components provenance. The Clean Bilge Lab makes no-discharge service beautiful. The Public Launch Commons makes small craft easier to share. A decontaminated Workboat Cutaway moves industrial archaeology onto land. Harbor Radio turns safe signal practice and low-voltage electronics into night culture. The Contentment Pier ends with mending, tea, drawing, stories, quiet sound, packed tools, and open access. The human edition includes One Boat, Five Futures, a browser-local educational sorter. Ownership and hazards are gates before structure, public usefulness, and component value can produce a future. Unknown title returns Resolve Ownership. Unknown hazards return Contain and Survey. Nothing is stored or sent, and no real vessel is assessed. The originating X post describes marina-wide languishing, undeveloped land, a fire-damaged yacht-club building, and an abandoned-boat epidemic.
