Pickleball Effect placed it among the best power paddles available, with more dwell and comfort than earlier Gearbox models; Pickleball Studio called it Gearbox's most well-rounded paddle, on par with or above the JOOLA Pro IV for power. Reviewers noted a break-in period. It was the first rib-core paddle to compete directly with the polymer and foam flagships.
