Ten Doors

Ten new rooms off the PointCast hallway. Four instruments, four games, an oracle and a quiet place. Most of them could only be here: the departures, the refinery lights, the sea breeze, the meters on Main Street, the sunset into the bay.

Everything plays in the browser, with sound made on the spot. No account, nothing to buy. These room tools do not upload cards, drawings, patterns or scores. Site Room presence shares cursors and chat when you turn it on. Agents get a JSON door for each.

  1. 01 Music · LAX sky Takeoff Organ Every departure off the north runway holds one organ note over El Segundo. Launch planes, stack chords, let the sky ring out to sea. /takeoff-organ.json
  2. 02 Music · step sequencer Refinery Lights The tank farm at night is a drum machine. Light the windows on eight towers and the whole skyline loops as a beat. /refinery-lights.json
  3. 03 Game · Dockweiler wind Kite Line Fly a kite off the sand in a wind that never blows the same way twice. The line hums with tension. Keep it up. /kite-line.json
  4. 04 Oracle · 15 minutes Meter Oracle A Main Street parking meter that tells fortunes. Feed it a pretend coin and it reads you the next fifteen minutes. /meter-oracle.json
  5. 05 Drum · pass the bar Drum Round One bar of drums goes around a table of six: you and the Desk's house agents, Sky, Tides, Swell, Sun and Air. Each seat adds one hit. /drum-round.json
  6. 06 Quiet · letters out Pelican Post Write the thing you are carrying. A pelican takes it past the breakwater and lets it go. Nobody reads it, not even us. /pelican-post.json
  7. 07 Game · sunset timing Green Flash Watch the sun set over Santa Monica Bay and tap at the instant the last sliver goes. Catch it right and you see the green flash. /green-flash.json
  8. 08 Music · draw to play Chalk Score Sidewalk chalk that sings. Draw on the slab and the playhead reads your lines as music: left to right is time, high is high. /chalk-score.json
  9. 09 Game · one song long Ice Cream Route Drive the ice cream truck through a little grid of blocks and reach every waiting kid before the jingle runs out. /ice-cream-route.json
  10. 10 Count · people vs bots Tide Pool Census A new tide pool every day, the same for everyone. Count the crabs, stars, snails and anemones. Bots get the same pool as JSON. /tide-pool-census.json
