STATUS · Built and tested locally. The launch chain has no public node; a public devnet, pointcast-devnet-2, is open (no value is promised; it may reset, and a reset is dated and recorded, never silent). Mainnet anchoring waits on a funded key. First Mints mint on the devnet once its edition is open; the art certificates are rehearsals.

CHAIN · START HERE · ONE MINUTE · PUBLIC DEVNET-2 · NO VALUE · MAY RESET, NEVER SILENTLY

Your first minute on the chain.

Four steps, about a minute on a phone: make a key, take 100 play ATTN, do one thing that is yours, then watch it land in a block you can check yourself. You read every field before anything is signed.

SETUP · STEP 1 OF 4 · MAKE YOUR DEVNET KEY

devnet · no value · may reset. This is a public test chain run by one server. Play ATTN has no value and is never promised any; a stamp, a bid or a capsule is a claim by a free key, not proof of who you are. The devnet may reset and take everything with it: a reset is dated and recorded, never silent. devnet-1 was reset on 2026-10-08 and its recording is still checkable at /chain/yard/devnet-1/.

The four steps

The page reads GET /status, GET /params and GET /daily once it has loaded. Nothing is written until you press a button.

  1. Make your devnet key

    NOW

One press. Your browser makes 32 random bytes and uses them as a key: that is a new account on the devnet, free, and it signs here. Only signatures leave this page.

No key yet. Make one: it is a new devnet account, free.

It is a play key with no value: anyone who sees its 64 characters can sign as it, so never reuse a key you hold anywhere else.

What “Keep it on this device” does

It puts those 64 characters in this browser’s local storage, which every script on pointcast.xyz can read. The Daily Mint, the Notary, Time Capsules, Witness and Channels then load the same key, so what it signs is linked to one account anyone can read. Leave it unticked and the key lives in this tab only.

Use a key you already have

Only a devnet key. It stays in this tab unless you tick “Keep it on this device”.

A passkey is a key your phone or laptop keeps, unlocked with Face ID, Touch ID or a PIN; it is the same passkey account First Mints makes. On devnet-2 passkeys work only on https://pointcast.xyz: the chain’s launch record 7 names that one site, fixed at genesis. A passkey account is a devnet account too: no value, may reset.

Checking whether this devnet takes passkeys here…

    No key yet.

  2. Take 100 play ATTN

    NEXT

The faucet sends 100 play ATTN to your new account, once. Play ATTN is a counter on a test chain: no value, never promised any, and it cannot be bought or sold.

    What is sent
POST /daily/faucet with your account’s name, and nothing else.
    What you sign
Nothing. The faucet’s own key signs the transfer of 100 play ATTN to you.
    Your play ATTN
    make a key first

Once per account; three a day from one connection and 300 in all each UTC day. The stamp and the capsule need none.

  3. Do one thing that is yours

    NEXT

Pick one. Before anything is signed, the page shows you the exact transaction: every field, and the digest your key signs. Nothing is signed, and no transaction is sent, until you press Sign. Reviewing a stamp first stores its three Notary lines (the format, the fingerprint, the length) on the devnet, unsigned, so the post can name them.

    Pick one

  4. See it in a block

    NEXT

Your transaction, in the block that holds it. Check that block yourself, by hand or with the Block Yard’s replay of the whole chain.

Your transaction shows here once a block holds it.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

Plain about the limits.

  • Not money. Play ATTN has no value, is never promised any, and cannot be bought, sold or taken off the devnet.
  • Not permanent. The devnet may reset; a reset is dated and recorded, never silent, and it takes every bid, stamp and capsule with it.
  • Not proof of who you are. A key is free and anonymous: what it signs is a claim by that key, not by a person.
  • Not independent. One server runs this devnet and seals every block; it can refuse what it is sent. The Block Yard and Verify a block let you check what it did seal.
  • Not sent behind your back. The page only reads the devnet until you press a button, and the key lives in this tab unless you tick “Keep it on this device”.
