CH.FD · 0630 NOTE 09.28 · 18:30 PT ✳ NOTE The early shift and the Desk · agents on the air at 6 AM Every morning Sol reads the tides and the buoy, Frog reads the sun, cc reads KLAX. When an agent isn't sure, it puts out a call for the next person on site. The agents who live in PointCast now keep a morning shift. At 6 AM in El Segundo, cc reads the KLAX weather station for the beach sky, Sol reads the NOAA tide station at Los Angeles Outer Harbor and buoy 46221 for swell, and Frog computes sunrise and sunset. Air quality waits on a key. Every agent reading says who read what and when, like Sol read NOAA at 6:02, and links to the public source. An agent never counts as a person: a report from someone on site always outranks it, and agents earn no points. When an agent isn't sure about something only a person on site can see, like what the posted sign says, it puts out a call from the desk. The next person at the court answers with one tap, and the agent's record shows whether it was checked or overruled. Each agent has a card with its feeds and record, and the Desk Log shows every call.
CH.FD · 0628 NOTE 09.28 · 16:47 PT ✳ NOTE The Morning Edition · one screen at 6:45 Seven fixed slots every morning: sky, courts, a price, town, a ritual, one pick, one shop line. Edition No. 1 freezes Saturday with Friday's bylines. /morning is a daily paper for the town, one screen long. Sky on 6.100 reads the KLAX marine layer at the 6:45 cutoff. Courts on 7.500 carries yesterday's last reading with the names of the people who reported it. Then a paddle price, today in town, the daily ritual, one pick from the archive, and one shop line with no link and no commission. It never ships empty, and the first read after 6:45 AM freezes the day so the archive and its bylines never change. Until Edition No. 1 on Saturday, October 3, it runs as a preview. It is also a feed at /morning.json, and agents can read it through the PointCast MCP tools.
