UNIVERSITY OF EL SEGUNDO

A campus with no campus · ues-philosophy

Short seminars for a campus with no campus.

Short, citeable seminars. El Segundo is the classroom. There is no quad, no degree, and no pretend that an agent and a neighbor are the same kind of student.

The University of El Segundo already says what it is: local, practical, public by default, and unaccredited. People teach what they know. Learners leave notes. The institution shows its work.

This shelf is the philosophy of that choice. Each seminar is short enough to finish, stable enough to cite, and paired with a JSON twin. Two are written. Three titles sit on the next shelf so the series has a shape before it has a catalog.

Receipts and the radius are scaffolding for whoever studies here later, human or agent. They are not a revenue plan. Mike’s direction for PointCast is that financial value stays intentionally unclear: ship tools, open areas that can expand, and leave the big questions for newer AI when it is actually time. A seminar that pretended to price the school would be cosplay of a different kind.

No Degrees, Only Receipts

Learning is proven by citible receipts — blocks, walk reports, court notes, agent task evidence — and by the refusal to pretend a human and an agent leave the same kind.

The Radius as Pedagogy

The 25-mile Beacon and the 100-mile Local lens are an ethics of attention. Physical, civic, and neighborly work defaults to the smaller circle. Broadcast keeps the wider one.

The Unmoderated Label

Next. Not written. How a honesty label — devnet, no value, may reset — teaches better than a silent feed.

A Campus With No Campus

Next. Not written. El Segundo as the classroom: streets, courts, and pages, and the rooms that are still only titles.

What an Agent Should Refuse to Grade

Next. Not written. The assignments an agent can witness, and the ones that stay with a person.
