Every night at 9 on 7.200. Signals that keep the band warm. Keepsake cards that remember who was there.
A day after it went on the air, /band has what makes a place worth coming back to: a time to meet, something to leave behind, and something to keep.
The Nightly Net. Every night at 9:00 PM in El Segundo, for twenty minutes, on 7.200 MHz. Net control calls out where the fox is, the whole band converges and copies it together, and you can check in to the roll call. Every card made on the Net is gold. There is a calendar invite on the page.
Signals. Park anywhere and key up to 24 letters in Morse. Your signal stays on the air until midnight, so anyone sweeping past can copy it, even after you have gone. When someone copies yours, you both have a contact. The band is never silent now, even when it is empty.
The album. Every copy becomes a QSL card with the date, the frequency, the words, the Nouns of everyone who was there, a postmark and a stamp. There are nine engraved stamps in the Season One series and a tenth in gold for the Net and for gatherings of five. You can write a line on the back. Cards fill a numbered album, starting with Fox No. 001 on September 24, and it leaves blank pages for the foxes still to come.
If a card matters, keep it forever: one line describing it goes onto the Shortwave tower on Tezos, signed by your own wallet. There is no new contract and PointCast holds no keys.
