A shortwave dial everyone shares, and a fox somewhere on it every day. Company clears the static.
The Layers deck on Shortwave had a dial you could turn by yourself. Now the dial is a place. /band is one shortwave band, 3 to 12 MHz, and everyone on the page is somewhere on it. You can see their Nouns on the dial and their traces on the waterfall.
Park next to someone and your carriers hum together: on the same frequency you play one note, close by you hear a slow beat. Hearts and sparkles float up from your Noun when you wave. Hanging out needs no words.
Every day a fox hides somewhere on the band and keys a short greeting in Morse. Sweep the dial until the FOX meter wakes up. Alone you have to sit dead on it to copy the message. Each listener parked near the fox clears the static, so the hunt goes faster together. Copy the whole message and you get a QSL card, the postcard radio operators trade to confirm a contact. It carries the date, the frequency, the greeting and the Nouns of everyone who was there. Save it or say it on Shortwave.
No account. Your call sign belongs to your browser. The fox moves at midnight in El Segundo. Copy it on consecutive days and your logbook keeps the streak. An invite link drops a friend onto your frequency.
