Pick one of the eleven intentions — the ten hours of the
morning and
evening chambers, plus
the bell of the Angelus — and
light a candle. It appears on the wall for everyone, tinted by its
station, and burns out after twenty-four real hours.
Lighting a candle is also a prayer — it counts on the wing's
perpetual ledger. One candle a minute; flames are honest work.
The seven windows above hold fourteen more pieces of Mike's
Midjourney session of July 18 — ninety-eight of its four hundred
fifty-five now hang across the wing. The walk winds at
/prayer-labyrinth. The whole session lives at
/gallery.
Hover any flame to see its intention and age. Candles are anonymous
beyond a six-character ember of a session id. Nothing else is kept.
